JANUARY 14, 2020 HERBS FOR CANCER

There are many herbs that can be used to kill cancer and support the patient’s immune system. The list is vast From paw paw , also known as soursop to a Venus fly trap

There are two anticancer botanicals that need to be discussed. Pao Pereira and Rauwolfa vomitoria. Some might know the Rauwolfa plant that is used in hypertension called R. serpentine. The medication produced from this plant is resperine.

Both botanicals above, Pao and Rauwolfa kill cancer cells and ONLY cancer cells. There are no toxic effects reported . They are taken throughout the day with meals.

R. vomitoria has a special affinity for hormonally dependent tissues as prostate, breast, testes, thyroid , ovaries and uterus. This is a very desirable herb if the organ is hormonally dependent. This herb has no anti viral benefits and DOES NOT cross the blood brain barrier. This is important. The alkaloid in the herb Pao Pereira does cross the blood brain barrier so it can be added to protocols that are used for brain cancers

The work n these herbs was done by the late Mirko Beljanski, , PhD. The work continues to carried out by his daughter, Slyvie and the Beljanski Foundation in New York City.

JANUARY 13, 2020 DXM

DXM, also known as dextromethorphan has been widely used to suppress coughs. I am sure we all have tried it at one time in our lives.

Upon reading it is the black sheep of the psychedelic family. It is said to be the bottom of the barrel, but others argue and say it has shamanic powers.

It was commonly used by those we know - Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac. One must not forget that it is a synthetic opioid analog. At the lower doses it is a stimulant with euphoric episodes and at higher doses can act as a dissociative anesthetic.

Some feel as Dr Peter Addy from Yale that DXM is one of the few chemicals NOT under prohibition that facilitates access to transpersonal experience.

You need to read about DXM It is fascinating

JANUARY 10-12, 2020 CHINESE HERBAL SECRETS

Detoxification is a word that is used often in Chinese Herbal Medicine. These detoxification programs are for healthy people with a robust digestion who want to rid their body of accumulated toxins. There is a lot written about how to detoxify. I feel detoxification programs are better suited for spring and summer rather than fall or winter.

Elimination of foods is the first step to detoxify

Do not think there are no foods left for you to eat when you start eliminating. You are eliminating a lot of foods: all foods with yeast ( which is practically everything ) You eliminate dairy, wheat, all sugars, all fruit especially dried fruits, all alcohol, foods with preservatives, pickles, vinegar products and much more. So what can you eat…

You can whole grains that are gluten free as brown rice, buckwheat, amaranth and quinoa. You can eats beans , seeds and nuts ( no peanuts)

You can eat olives, flaxseed, and hempseeds You can eat vegetables any type and as much as you want but remember this —no more than half should be raw

There are some eating habits to know

  1. Eat slowly, and chew

  2. do not eat while upset

  3. do not drink any cold fluids

  4. always eats a good breakfast, lunch and dinner

  5. do not eat any chilled foods

  6. eat until you are two thirds full

JANUARY 9, 2020 HOUSE CALLS: MY OWN PODCAST

It is in my blood to be on the radio. For my years with the late Robert Atkins , we did a daily radio show at 12 noon on WOR from his 2nd floor office. That was 22 years ago. We talked about a multitude of problems, answered questions and had guests. Dr Atkins introduced me to field of Integrative Medicine ( then referred to as Complimentary Medicine ) I am very grateful for the time we spent together.

After he died , I continued to do my own radio show on WOR and even wrote my first book “ You’re on the Air with Dr Fratellone . “ I started my own practice. Many of the patients of the Atkins Center followed me . I progressed to Internet Radio and more recently Pod Casts

Recently I started my own Pod Cast show with the support of Botanical Bounty. I love to educate and I love to speak about disease. I speak about the conventional aspect of medicine as well as the other disciplines of medicine for which I am trained as Homeopathy and Botanical Medicine.

House Calls provides to Podcasts per month to you for a membership of $7.99 month. Previous podcasts have been on Heavy Metal Intoxication, Borreliosis, and Food Allergies. JANUARY 8, 2020 TREATMENT FOR ADDICTION

The key to radical treatment in ADDICTION is knowing the patterns of neurochemical imbalance in the brain that cause craving and addiction

There are many non pharmaceutical treatments available to treat addictions. Some of these involve herbal or botanical herbs, some involve supplements or nutraceuticals and others involve meditation, acupuncture

I have used all of the above. One area that can be used is the use of essential oils. There are many uses for essential oils. Some can be applied, some can be aromotized and some can be ingested.

The six basic patterns of neurochemical imbalance are template patterns of spirit (Shen) imbalance as well; they encompass mental, mood and emotional states and create typical Qi, Blood and fluids pathology. All these patterns (acute, chronic and their variations) can be treated effectively with the right neuroactive essential oils – including on acupoints.

JANUARY 7, 2020 HYPOTHYROID

Hypothyroidism is more than common today than in the past There are two reasons for this. For one , more patients are asking their health care providers to test for antibodies as TPO. The second reason is that most individuals are iodine deficient, thus causing hypothyroidism.

Hypothyroidism is significantly associated with increased all-cause mortality, but not cardiovascular mortality, among the elderly, according to a review published online Dec. 12 in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.

Based on 27 cohort studies (total 1,114,638 participants), the researchers found that patients with hypothyroidism experienced a higher risk for all-cause mortality than those with euthyroidism (pooled relative risk [RR], 1.26; 95 percent confidence interval [CI], 1.15 to 1.37).

There are many patients hwo have symptomns of an undersactive thyroid. The phsyician doesn’t agree as their TSH ( thyroid stimuaklting hormone) level is not greater than 4. Despite what the TSH is, thge doctor needs to test free t3 free T4 reverse T3 and thyroid antibodies. There are many patinets who exhibit symptoms with normal TSH, but have a low free t3 or low free t4

JANUARY 6, 2020 VITAMIN D

Vitamin D has been touted as the vitamin of the last decade. There are many studies showing that lower levels Vitamin D can be associated with cardiovascular disease, autoimmune diseases and even cancer Vitamin D and calcium supplements are recommended for preventing fractures, but studies have reported conflicting results on the effectiveness of vitamin D with or without calcium for reducing fracture risk.

While observational studies have shown that higher 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25[OH]D) blood concentrations are associated with lower risk for any fracture and hip fracture specifically, randomized controlled trials demonstrate no fracture risk reduction with vitamin D supplements alone, according to a systematic review and meta-analysis published in JAMA

These studies are important. I do feel have did initially over prescribe doses of vitamin D, but there was NO harm. No patient exhibited vitamin D toxicity and none had increased liver enzyme function.

all randomized controlled trials of vitamin D alone or calcium plus vitamin D were published before January 1, 2019, and included ≥500 participants and ≥10 incident fractures.

There are many supplements to be taken to reduce fracture risk.

JANUARY 4-6, 2020 BEESWAX

if YOU ASKED ME fifteen years ago would I be so involved with honeybees and apitherapy I would have said “ No” I am a beekeeper I have extracted honey for myself. I process my own wax from my hives. If I need more I obtain raw beeswax filtered and non filtered from other beekeepers

I have learned about wax through other beekeepers. There are four kinds of wax - candle wax, white wax, brood wax and beekeepers wax. I have never used white wax. I have used the other three to make candles, balms, salves and this year for 2020 I will make under arm deodorant.

I have made all different types of beeswax candles from molds to votives and pillars. My candle making is a hobby for me in the last 3 years. I decided to give all the guests at my daughter’s wedding a candle and a small jar of raw honey from my hives. It was a rewarding experience as people opened their wedding parting gift

Since the wedding I have made over a hundred different candle molds. I give them as gifs. I also sell them in an appropriately named Etsy store, HoneybeeMD by Patrick and at Botanical Bounty in NYC at 115 East 57th Street 646 723 1823. I auction many of them at the annual Charles Mraz Apitherapy conference sponsored by the American Apitherapy Society for which I am Vice President. Support Apitherapy www.apitherapy.org
