MAY 6, 2020 ANTIBODY TESTING FOR COVID

You could of predicted that antibody testing would flood the laboratory market. And it did There are 160 antibody tests for COVID 19 now on the market without prior review. This is ridiculous. Now the FDA is cracking down on fraudulent tests.

Accurate testing is vitally important . This is the tool that government officials can access how extensively the corona virus has swept through a city and a state. The more accurate testing that is in place, the more you will how many people are infected. Now I have read that the FDA is having companies submit emergency use authorization and require them to meet the standards of accuracy. In my mere opinion this should have been done from Day 1.

The front line need to be tested . For example, for those doctors and nurses it can tell a hospital which of their front line workers are positive, had the illness and now recovered. The other problem I see is that we do not know what precise level of antibody is sufficient to result in immunity This is so vitally important. We need to know that antibody level that will give the individuals peace of mind and allow them to go back to living Ant antibody test have always gauged the presence in the body of disease fighting bodies that linger after a patient has been sick. We do not know enough about this ‘ supposed’ virus.

MAY 5, 2020 COVID: WHY STAY CLOSED

There are many states that are going to start easing up on ‘ shut down’ or quarantine. On many levels I can see why the population at large wants this. It has been quite an ordeal for some individuals. There is a bigger economic or financial incentive. I know there is a need to make an income. I personally understand as I still have to pay a New York City rent as well as a mortgage. I have no income from closing my medical practices

For those that are protesting for the above reasons—let me tell you why we should NOT ease precautions.

The US death toll has exceeded 70.000. This is higher than the high end estimate of deaths from the flu since October. This pandemic has killed patients much faster than the flu in just three months. The complications from corona virus are far worse than we have seen from the flu. The new numbers now show death toll could hit 134,000 by August. I still feel it will go much higher than that. You know that vaccine is ,much further away than the government is saying. The model for New York is stating that an additional 7800 people are not expected to die. The only model that makes sense is Governor Cuomo 4 stage plan. That might even have to curtailed depending on the spikes in deaths.

Research has shown that person with the flu infected about 1.28 other people whereas corona infects an average of 2-3 other people.

We do not know what the summer will bring . I believe this winter there will be mixture of flu and corona causing more deaths than any other year.

As a physician who has seen people get intubated on a ventilator it is very distressing and depressing.. There is a 87 % - 91 % mortality for those patients placed on a ventilator

MAY 4, 2020 COVID UPDATES

Medical journals are full of COVD articles. The news is streaming about vaccination updates and new drug updates. There were 2700 new cases of COVID on May 1st in NYC. This is frightening as more and more people are trying to get tested. For me I fear that lifting restrictions will only make the number of cases go up and then the possibility of the number of deaths to go up.

I fear the death toll in the United States will increase.

There is hope that the company Gilead’s drug remdesivir might be better than previous reported. The FDA is now giving emergency authorization to the company . This could turn out to be good news. I want to state there are many anti viral herbs that I would use with much less side effects.

I have seen that the FDA and other medical authorities are downplaying the use of hydroxyquinine foir the use of COVID with or without zithromycin. There was a lot of hype rather than real data when ‘the man in the White House’ made his statement. I support its use and so does the data when it is used with autoimmune conditions as lupes, rheumatoid arthritis etc. A Massachusetts General Hospital doctor, Dr Mark Poznansky stated that patients with COVID on hydroxyquinine ( Plaquenil) did not do well . He states doctors should be thoughtful about using this drug in the context of an acute viral condition. It has been known and researched that this drug reduces immune function

There are reports of Pepcid ( Famoditiine) being used with some success. This drug is more benign than the above, but the data is not completed.

We as physicians need to be cautious and you as a patient need to be cautious. As I have stated We do not know enough about this supposed ‘virus’

MAY 1, 2020 BLOOD CLOTS AND COVID

Broadway actor Nick Cordero is recovering after having his right leg amputated following complications with coronavirus. This is not a common symptom of the corona virus let alone any ‘supposed’ respiratory virus. There is more about the virus we need to know.

It has been reported that a blood test called D dimer present in individuals with blood clots is so high with corona virus patients when compared to those with clots and no corona virus.

The doctors treating patients with COVID 19 have described pervasive clots in the lungs on autopsy, and even breakthrough clotting clogging dialysis lines despite anticoagulation. This is so unheard of in patients with a virus. We do not know whether the clotting is a consequence or a cause of what’s happening in the lungs

This only highlights to me as previously described that there is more to the story than what we are being told. Man or lab made virus ? 5G causing complications ? Do these individuals with high D - dimer and clots need upon discharge a higher dose of anti coagulation than we usually give

In China full therapeutic dosing or intermediate dosing of anticoagulation drugs has been used and found to be effective

APRIL 30, 2020 NIH GUILDELINES

The National Institute of Health has now published COVID guidelines. The panel does not recommend drugs for pre and post exposure prophylaxis outside of clinical trials. It does not make any recommendations for specific anti viral therapy or immunomodulatory treatments They have stated this is not safe

It comes out against the use of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin because we know there is a toxicity rate. The number of prescriptions soared when the one particular individual in government keep tauting with the use of hydroxychloroquine ( plaquinel) those THAT ARE NOT MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS should not speak about such things. It also spoke against the anti viral therapies such as lopinavir, ritonavir and other protease inhibitors

My question is this . What treatments is the government discussing? Maybe the [public needs to hear about anti viral herbs that can help. Maybe someone should discuss vitamin C, zinc, magnesium and other supplements and herbs. Maybe someone should discuss why ventilators are not working

I urge all individuals to read a lot that is poublished. Be wary of who is publishing it. Look at the front line physicians and nurses comments and posts about what is not working.

APRIL 29, 2020 CORONA DEATHS

The United States has surpassed 50,000 deaths from coronavirus and it is stated that are one million infections country wide. I feel this number is severely underestimated. There are many states like California that are predicting many millions that could be infected.  There is a lack of testing and appropriate testing in this country,. We need to look at other countries with better tests .

Despite what you are reading - there will be a second wave of cases . I feel this will occur in December 2020. This will occur as the government and states issue statements to let people go back to work. I feel without adequate testing we are taking a chance. I know the economy is affected., We all are being effected by this. YOU are not alone. WE are in this crisis together

We are offering Ig G and IgM testing in our office in Connecticut. The test is offered from the company BioTek. Unfortunately for whatever reason the test is not offered in the State of New York. It is important to find out if you had the illness and have antibodies. The WHO made a statement about IgG antibodies . At first it was stated IgG antibodies might not mean you are immune as they don’t know what the level of immunity is. To an extent this is correct but Ig G antibodies do mean you have had the virus and can give us some information to you immunity.

We might be better prepared for the second wave of corona. We also have to understand we have influenza in the Fall/winter that also affects millions and causes death.

The states like Georgia and Nevada are making decisions for the economy. I understand that. This might be a mistake and more will die

APRIL 28, 2020 IS NICOTINE BENEFICIAL NOW

A recent Paris France study was conducted and reported . There were 343 coronavirus patients along with 139 people infected with the illness but who had milder symptoms There was a low number of smokers in this group

A similar finding was found in a China study that was published in the New England Journal of Medicine. This found only 12.6 % of smokers in 1000 people infected in China

So what is the point ? The point is that nicotine could adhere to the cell receptors thus blocking the virus from entering the cell and spreading. Could this mean that nicotine could save your life from this virus ? This was suggested by the author of this Parisian study at the Pasteur Institute.

So the study needs to be further investigated. The study is now using nicotine patches . Could this prevent the cytokine storm we are seeing in the patients. Or is this cytokine storm from a presumed toxicity rather than a virus.

The data from research is overwhelming in many regards. What is right and what is wrong. I do not think we should advocate cigarette smoking at this point, We know the harmful effects of nicotine

MAY 1, 2020 FAMOTIDINE AND COVID 19

Famotidine is a H2 blocker and present in Pepcid. This drug is used in peptic/ gastric ulcer disease. The Northwell Health system is tracking its effect on some 150 plus corona patients. There are certain drug classes that block the HIV replication. This class of drugs might show some benefit with COVID 19.This trial is hoping to have 1200 - 1500 patients All of the Northwell hospitals are participating in this trial

The trial is combining the Famotidine with hydroxyquinine ( Plaquenil) Remember chloroquinine is used to treat malaria and in some protocols for chronic Lyme. It does have some serious side effects.

We are over 1 million cases in the United States and more than 3 million worldwide. I would like to see the government studying some supplements/herbs that herbalists/ ND’s/ acupuncturists are using with their patients.
