FEBRUARY 14, 2023 SILVER
Silver is a powerful antibiotic which has been used for thousands of years. There has never been a harmful side effect, except using too much colloidal silver can change the color of your skin. You might start looking like the Tin Man from the 1939 Wizard of Oz. I had to write about the Tin Man —today on Valentine’s Day as he said “ A heart is not judged by how much you low; but how much you are loved by others .”
The ancient Greeks and Romans knew that if their plates, drinking vessels are utensils were made of silver there was a less chance of acquiring an infection. Those individuals that used silver during the 14th century bubonic plague had a higher chance of survival. Thus, the phrase, "Born with a silver spoon in your mouth" was used.
Prior to antibiotic discovery, colloidal silver used to treat many infections. There are reports of its use on the battlefield during the Civil War. The colloidal silver works as a catalyst disabling the enzyme of oxygen metabolism for all viruses, bacteria, parasites and fungi. Once the discovery of antibiotics came along, colloidal silver use diminished and almost disappeared from use. I started to use oral colloidal silver when working the late Robert Atkins, MD for the atypical bacteria. Dr. Atkins and others at that time referred to these bacteria as 'sleath bacteria.' I used it frequently for infections with the mycoplasma, chlamydia and legionella 'atypical' bacteria
I have used and continue to use colloidal silver for many infections including parasites, sinus infections, rashes, shingles, Lyme disease, other spirochete disease. HIV and even cancer. It is not the cure all, but neither are antibiotics. We have many resistant strains due to overuse and abuse of the more powerful antibiotics. There are also herbal antibiotics like garlic, honey, ginger , yarrow and many more

FEBRUARY 13, 2023 INDIAN GOOSEBERRY
You might know this as Alma. Its botanical name is Phyllanthus emblica. Alma contains the highest amount of ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) I encourage Vitamin C for many conditions in my practice. Alma is rich in polyphenols as well as other flavonoids including 30 % tannin. This plant has many actions/uses from being a mild adaptogen to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It is used in cancer as the whole fruit may enhance NK ( Natural Killer) cells. I like it as it reduces excess histamine production
Traditionally it has been used for treatment of any burning sensation in the body. I have seen it used for anorexia , cough, urinary discharges and even hemorrhoids. The fruit is also edible in different parts of the world.
In Africa a different species of Phyllanthus is used for its antidiabetic properties and its anti hepatic protective properties, I have even read studies on this African variety being used as treatment the against Hepatitis B and C
The Phyllanthus amarus plant has been studied and used in the treatment of HIV. I have been tryiung to demonstrate that there are many plants with anti viral activity

FEBRUARY 8, 2023 LABRADORITE
I have been drawn to rock, minerals and crystals ever since I bought a white box with labeled rocks from FW Woolworths. There are some things one never forgets. I have been drawn to certain crystals for some time. I have a collection of crystals throughout my home. One crystal originally discovered in Labrador Canada has been my favorite. It is Labradorite. It is usually grey - green in color with multicolored iridescence. It is Labradorite. It is called the ‘ Stone of Seeing “ as this is the crystal for perceiving what is real and true in the present moment.
There are certain times in my life when I needed truth. One was when I got sober in 1994. The other was in 2015 - 2016 when in my life was spiraling and words were not true from loved ones. I turned to this stone for guidance. Labradorite releases you from things that are ready to move on from. This could be from a toxic friendship or relationship. I needed to BE HERE NOW. I went to St Marks Place in New York City and did something bold. I had my left ear tragus pierced . I put a labradorite stone there. The tragus is a powerful point. I felt the stress released from my body as the tragus was pierced. I wanted the stone close to me where I can gain insight and wisdom that are just below the obvious. When under stress I press the labradorite tragus piercing for instant relief.
It has been said that this crystal strengthens your aura as well as deflecting and protecting the individual from any less than bright energies. It has served me well. It has allowed me to move on and forgive. I did this for me

FEBRUARY 7, 2023 HONEYBCOMB
I first read about honeycomb being used as a treatment for breathing problems in 1980 in Dr Jarvis’s book called Folk Medicine published in 1958 I never thought much about it until I became a beekeeper. The value of chewing honeycomb applies especially to the lining of entire pulmonary tract. Of course, honeycomb is not easy to find. You can use 1 teaspooon of raw honey .
I could write a 100 blogs about the use of honey. In the American Bee Journal in 1955 , Llyod Percival wrote about the “ Experience with Honey in Athletic Nutrition “ I alwaus have found it fascinating about how bees gather nectar from flowers. This is the chief source of carbohydrates which are converted into dextroise and levulose The other food necessary for the honeybee is derived from pollen which is also found in honeycomb. Watch a notice a honeybee with pollen on its body as it flies back to the hives.
So this yet another apitherapy product from the beehive which has medicinal use. The others are propolis, royal jelly, beepollen , and bee venom

FEBRUARY 6, 2023 OMEGA 3 OILS
Do you take omega 3 oils ? Or do you eats foods rich in omega 3 . There are countless benefits to the use of omega 3 . The medicinal benefits extend beyond cardiovascular disease.
There are ways to measure if you have enough mega 3 in your diet. It is a simple blood tests that most laboratories can perform. I use Boston Heart which is a specialty lab, but Quest Labs does an Omega 3 ( EPA + DHA) index report. The omega 3 index is associated with a high risk of cardiovasclar disease. You can measure not only the index but the omega 6/ omega 3 ratio, arachidonic acid and EPA.
There are food sources for omega 3. Many fish as salmon, mackerel, sardines, bluefish and scallops have omega 3. The oils that contain omega 3 are walnut, soybean, flac, canola, cod livcer, cod liver and olive oil. The nuts and seeds that contain good omega 3 are walnuts and pecans. Soybeans also contain omega 3
Please take your omega 3

FEBRUARY 2, 2023 HABITS SHAPE OUR LIVES
We all have habits. We refer them to ‘ good ‘ or ‘ bad ‘ I have changed my thinking and reason about this. These habits shape our lives. Every morning for the last few months I have developed a habit of listening to different podcasts while on my train ride to NYC from Fairfield CT I do stitch ( another hobby) which is very meditative for me. This after my daily morning meditation habit. Then when in work I write this daily blog ( another habit) which I have been doing since March 2010. All of these habits shape the man I am or want to be It changes my behavior
This morning all of my thinking was rectified after listening Feel Better Live More podcast with Dr Rangan Chatterjee and his guest James Clear He is an author of Atomic Habits. This is a handbook for anyone who wants to finally get grips with successful behavior changes. This is how he discusses habits. I also havbe been reading his newsletter which I feel is the best out there. The conversatin betweem Rangan and James made me ponder about one’s life habits. It is not good or bad habits — it is whether these habits are effective. So, I though… my daily blog is effective for many individuals on many different levels. More importantly it is effective for me. James states, “behavioral change is really identity change” This resonates with me on many levels. Some of my habits which for me are my hobbies have been personality altering.
Get Atomic Habits. Change your behavior … which will change your identity
